Description

Have you ever wanted to create something that looks like pure magic right in your own kitchen? This recipe literally changes colors before your eyes and leaves everyone wondering how you did it! A genuinely fun and functional recipe that combines the natural beauty of butterfly-pea flower with the practical benefits of sea salt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp naturally blue sea salt (butterfly-pea infused)
  • 1 tbsp warm filtered water (approximately 45°C/113°F)
  • 2 drops fresh lemon or lime juice
  • 1 drop pure mint extract (optional for cooling finish)
  • 1 ramekin or espresso cup
  • 1 mini whisk or coffee spoon
  • 1 30ml dark-glass atomizer bottle
  • 1 narrow funnel

Instructions

  1. In your ramekin, whisk the blue sea salt into the warm water. Watch as the liquid shifts from deep sapphire blue to cloudy sky blue.
  2. Stir in the lemon or lime juice slowly. The citric acid reacts with the anthocyanins in the butterfly-pea flower, creating stunning color transformation.
  3. Add the mint extract if using, and give one gentle stir for a cooling finish.
  4. Allow the mixture to rest for 10 minutes so any tiny bubbles can disperse.
  5. Funnel the solution into your dark-glass atomizer bottle, cap it, label with the date, and refrigerate for 30 minutes before first use.

Notes

This mixture maintains its best flavor and color for up to 7 days when stored properly in the fridge. Keep in dark-glass atomizer bottle and use cold – no reheating needed! Limit usage to one spray per hour to avoid temporary tongue tinting.
